Premier's Debating Challenge

On Tuesday the 15th of June Berry Public School travelled to Gerringong Public School to compete in the 3^rd and 4^th rounds of the Premier’s Debating Challenge. It was a huge day of robust argument during which our teams had to argue that: 

• ‘Kids should have to do 2 hours of community service each week’
• ‘Children should not be paid for doing jobs around the house’
• ‘Schools should start each day with a 30 minute mental health and well-being lesson’

The Berry Bears team and Berry Ideas team both performed strongly, winning 2 debates on the day!

Throughout Term 2 our teams have worked hard, persevering through the knock-backs, applying feedback to improve their performance and demonstrating excellent team-work which has seen them hone their skills and show a marked improvement in their performance. We are extremely proud of their achievements and look forward to our final debate against Kiama in Term 3!
