Stage 2 Gadhungal Marring excursion
As part of the Gadhungal Marring program, students will have the chance to engage in an immersive on Country learning experience at Ben's Walk, Nowra. This scenic walk along the Shoalhaven River offers insights into the area's rich heritage and natural beauty. The excursion, led by the Gadhungal Marring team and accompanied by the Stage 2 teachers, will begin at the Nowra Showground. The day commences with an opening ceremony, followed by meaningful activities. Students will explore the traditions and culture of the region's traditional custodians, immersing themselves in Dharawal language and learning about the area's significant history. Students will be divided into three rotational groups. Each group is named after a local sacred place, honouring the region's traditional heritage. Gaambiwarra- Cambewarra Mountain Djallubagaang - Coolangatta Mountain Moeyan- Moeyan Hill By exploring the local Indigenous communities’ deep connection to the land, students will gain a deeper appreciation for their role in the community and their responsibility to care for these places.
