From L to R:, Isaac Jung, Frank Dickinson , Lyn Oades,  Raewyn Collins, Melinda Medvedsky, Simon Chaplin, Madalene McCarthy, Sue Skinner, Julie Thompson,

It is my pleasure to introduce our staff for this year.  The commitment of this team is impressive. They are faithful and careful in teaching the curriculum and they care very much about your children.

They have been authorised to work in Berry School by the four Protestant Churches in town and all teachers have SRE Accreditation Teacher Training and meet relevant requirements under the Child Protection Act. For your information, below are the websites for the curricula we use.

KINDERGARTEN - Raewyn Collins (Community Church): I have been teaching Scripture to Kindergarten for 9 years. I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, and my husband and I moved to The Arbour 10 years ago.  I love to cook and I love my vegetable garden.

Madelene McCarthy (Community Church): Helper

Janice Jung (Presbyterian): Helper

YEAR 1 Sue Skinner (Presbyterian): We have lived in Bomaderry for 3 years and love the beautiful south coast. We have 3 grown-up daughters. I am a teacher, having taught for over 30 years. I have also taught scripture for many years, which I love. I also enjoy seeing family and friends, going to church, and helping other people.

YEAR 2 Julie Thompson (Community Church): I live in Berry with my husband of 40+ years. Berry Public School was my first teaching appointment and I’m still here. We have a married son and daughter and three beautiful granddaughters. I am a recently retired primary teacher and enjoy catching up with the family and doing craft.

YEAR 3 - Isaac Jung (Presbyterian): My wife, Janice, and I and 4 children moved to Berry in Jan 2014. I’m the minister of the Presbyterian Church here. Prior to this, we lived in Sydney for 15 years, where we worked for 12 years with children, youth and young adults. It’s my great privilege to be part of this lovely community and a member of our SRE team. I love to meet people and enjoy chatting with them.

YEAR 4 Simon Chaplin (Anglican): My family has just moved in to Berry, and so far we are loving it! I have two children at this school (Liam Yr 5, and Lily, Kindergarten) and a third (Annabel) at home with my wife Amy.  I am the new minister at St Lukes Anglican, and I love teaching SRE. I have been teaching SRE for the past 15 years and look forward to teaching here. Things I enjoy most are spending time with family and friends and going walking in the bush.

YEAR 5 Frank Dickinson (Community Church): My wife, Gillian, and I became Christians just a few months after we were married in 1966.   We have two married sons and two lovely daughters-in-law and 5 beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy family & friends, reading, painting and music.

YEAR 6 Melinda Medvedsky. Melinda Medvedsky (Community Church): I'm the Youth Pastor at Berry Community Church. I have two primary school-aged daughters, and we love doing anything creative – music, art, dance, etc, and reading.

Coordinator: Lyn Oades (Anglican): I’m a retired teacher, married to Terry, a mother of four and a grandmother of nine. I’ve taught Scripture for many years and am delighted to be involved with the children of Berry School.
