A huge thanks for the generosity and support of our community during our Election cake stall and direct donations which raised $1667 for Congong Public School to assist in their flood recovery.
The NSW Primary Principals’ Association created a “Schools for Schools” support program to assist schools that were ravaged by flood waters during the 2022 extreme weather event that affected so much of the NSW Coastline.
Our school was buddied with Condong Public School on the North Coast which as one such school affected by the flooding.
The Principal of Condong Public School said the staff and students particularly lamented the loss of their new music equipment which was all but destroyed.
Our School, The Berry P&C in partnership with the Berry Music Centre immediately began coordinating fundraising to assist the school to replace their music equipment and bring music back to the school.
The Condong Public School Facebook page reflected their community sentiments and gratitude for the gesture:
“Wow! What a fabulous school and community. As a grandmother of a Condong student ( four generations of my family have attended this wonderful school, including me) thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.”
Thank you to our P&C and to everyone who contributed to the bake sale and volunteered their time.
