We have no doubt that you have already heard but ... "The Bases" or "The Trees" are officially open for 2023!
For those who are new to BPS this year (or maybe a future BPS community member), "The Trees" are exactly that, the amazing tree areas we have surrounding the back playground of our school. A few years ago we decided to let the students into this area during the cooler seasons, to encourage their imaginations to run wild.
We quickly started to realise that the students had created a mini society within the school, with its own currency, bank, jail, farms and so much more.
It was honestly fascinating to watch how quickly this all came together and how respectfully and safely, the students were able to claim their own plot of land and start to build. This year was no exception, the students have been down there for 2 days and already these amazing structures have started to take shape!
This year we are going to be using this space, the structures the children build, and a bit of Paint Pot magic, to create natural installations that are going to be a part of the Open Field Contemporary Art Festival happening in Berry between 22nd and 25th of June.
